I carry a stopwatch on a lanyard to every wedding, and I'm not even kidding! I'm Sofia, a freelance wedding makeup artist in LA, and I've worked around two hundred weddings, a lot of them outdoors in full summer heat. I started at fifteen doing my cousins' quinceañera makeup, trained at cosmetology school, assisted a bridal team for three years, then went out on my own. Here I share long-wear makeup, skin prep, technique and quick looks, step by step and timed. Expect client stories, thin layers and skin that still looks like skin.
