Margaret Evans

关于 Margaret Evans

I'm Margaret, a retired district nurse, and I've gardened the same long, narrow plot behind our Victorian terrace in Roath for thirty years. I grow vegetables, soft fruit for jam, and a fair amount of food for slugs, the beggars. My son Gareth lives up the road, and his two teenage boys help with the digging; Bryn, my old Welsh terrier, helps with digging in all the wrong places. Here I write about what's worth doing this time of year, the tools and outdoor kit that have earned their keep, and what I've learned the slow way. I'll always tell you the month, because it matters. Mind you, I'm not one for trinkets; a garden full of ornaments is a garden full of slug hotels. A torch and a bucket at dusk, that's my remedy.
