Sean Murphy

关于 Sean Murphy

Who am I? Sean. I work the counter at an independent record shop in Cork city centre. Took the job at 23. Temporary, I said. Still here, so. Grew up on the northside raiding my mam's record collection, and she still has my first ones. Did film studies, which mostly qualified me to run the shop's monthly film club in the back room. On here it's vinyl, turntables, soundtracks and films worth owning. Every time, one deep cut you'd never find on your own. Plus counter stories, like the fella who wanted the song from the ad with the dog. Check second-hand vinyl under a light before buying. Looks grand, says you? Says the scratch, it doesn't. Jinx, my one-eyed cat, sleeps on the turntable lid at home in Ballintemple. Great taste. No thumbs.
