I'm Paul, a sales rep for an agricultural equipment supplier, and for fifteen years I've covered southern Idaho, eastern Oregon and northern Nevada. That means three nights a week in hotels, every week. This year I'm past night 112, according to the spreadsheet my wife Karen insists I keep. Our kids, Jake and Molly, track my trips on the kitchen whiteboard. Scout, our pointer, sulks when the backpack comes out. Here I write about backpacks, chargers, toiletry kits and the small accessories that make work travel less tiring. I'll be honest: for trips under three nights, a backpack beats a rolling bag. Mine is four years old with a taped strap. Still going. Expect hotel stories, packing lists and a home for everything. Ask for a room away from the ice machine. Every time.
