I run a taco truck in El Paso, near the university and at weekend events, with a shelf of about forty hot sauces bolted to the wall. Bought the truck used at twenty-three. Savings plus a small loan. No lie, best decision I ever made. Here I write about snacks, hot sauce, drinks and border food. My heat scale is simple: one is for your tía, ten is for regret. Every rating is honest. Flavor first. Heat second. Expect customer stories, because somebody walks up and says "Give me your hottest" every single week. My abuela still teaches me recipes on Sundays, on her cast-iron comal. Chapo, my rescue mutt, rides shotgun to the commissary. He's a two on the heat scale. Órale.
