I manage a board-game café in Pittsburgh, which means I teach a new game to a table of strangers nearly every night. 6 strangers, 1 box, about 45 minutes, and usually a group chat by the end. Here I write about board games, puzzles, party games and how to run a good game night: player counts, play time, who it suits, and how to teach the goal first. Expect game-night stories and the odd pun. I learned to explain things fast as a camp counselor and then a server, and I keep a whiteboard tally of every game I've taught this year. I live above a bakery in Lawrenceville with my fiancé Josh, our best rules-reader, and a rabbit named Meeple. Every game deserves a fair roll. Mostly.
